The Ministry of Tourism and Sport of the Slovak Republic has also set as one of its priorities the support of the gastronomic sector, which it wants to support through education, support for talents and the development of their skills. As part of the educational activities, "Study Tourism" supported the National Round of the most famous and important culinary art competition in the world, Bocuse d'Or Slovakia 2025, which took place on October 29, 2025 in Banská Bystrica.

The competition is considered the "gastronomic Oscar" and has spread to all continents since its inception. It was founded in France in January 1987 by Paul Bocuse, drawing inspiration from major sporting events. A spectacular cooking and media show of 24 of the most promising young chefs in front of a live audience and the attentive eyes of the jury helps to reveal the greatest culinary arts talents from around the world. It aims to highlight the diversity of culinary cultures.

The national round was also a media show with cooking in front of both live and online audiences. The competition attracted not only Slovak chefs working at home and abroad, but also important partners of the gastronomic sector to Banská Bystrica. Students of secondary vocational schools and hotel academies accompanied by their teachers and mentors from all over Slovakia also had the opportunity to "taste" the Slovak round. Juniors came to draw inspiration and motivation for further studies, teachers to support their students and graduates – members of competitive teams.

In his speech to the contestants, the General Director of the Tourism Section, Ľuboš Kabát, highlighted their talent, creativity and contribution to the development of Slovak gastronomy. The ministry supports young talents, education and creativity in the culinary craft, stands behind the development of the gastronomic sector, because gastronomy is the heart of tourism and a great way to introduce Slovakia to the world.
